Community Social Services wage increase to take effect April 1, 2016
The first of three annual wage increases for Community Social Services (CSS) workers will begin on April 1, 2016.
This 2.5% Compensation Comparability Increase, combined with an Economic Stability Dividend of 0.45%, will result in an increase for all members covered by the Community Living Services and General Services collective agreements.
The hike is expected to improve staff recruitment and retention, leading to improved consistency of care for the individuals that HEU members work with.
HEU continues to meet with the employer association to determine the amount of future wage adjustments that are scheduled for April 1, 2017 and April 1, 2018.
It is not expected that future adjustments will be the same as this year. Information on future adjustments will be updated when agreements have been reached.
