A recently negotiated Memorandum of Agreement between the union, the Facilities Bargaining Association, the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and the Health Employers Association will ensure health care workers in clerical and clinical support at 10 correctional health services facilities across B.C. will be represented by HEU.
Discussions leading to the agreement were sparked by PHSA’s decision to take over the delivery of correctional health care from Chiron Health Services Inc., beginning October 1, 2017.
As part of the agreement, current Chiron Health employees will have the first opportunity to apply for positions transferring to the PHSA. Any vacant positions following that process will be posted in accordance with the Facilities Subsector collective agreement.
