The Political Action Subcommittee makes recommendations to and advises the Provincial Executive on:
- Education and action program initiatives that meet HEU policy objectives, including protecting public health care;
- Supporting policy and program initiatives to expand and encourage political participation of members, including engaging in political action; and
- Building support for candidates who support the policies and objectives of the union.
Since 1944 HEU members have engaged in political action to protect and defend our public health care system and to take on some of the biggest issues facing our union.
