Preparing for 2025 bargaining
The Facilities Bargaining Association (FBA) collective agreement expires on March 31, 2025. About 41,000 HEU members are covered by the FBA contract.
In preparation for contract negotiations, HEU is holding a three-day Facilities Bargaining Conference (November 19, 20 and 21, 2024) at the the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel in Surrey.
During the conference, delegates will discuss bargaining proposals (bargaining demands), identify top priorities, and elect a bargaining committee.

The Facilities Benchmark Classification system is the sole criteria for the classification of jobs in the facilities subsector.
A benchmark is not a job description. It is a number of duties, described in broad terms, that represents a level of work and responsibility. A job description is a detailed list of duties required by an employer at a particular facility.
These documents will provide your benchmark rate code and/or grid code. To find your wage rates, look in your collective agreement, and your wage schedule, both found on this page.
HEU’s classification system has more than 270 benchmarks within these occupational groups.
