For several months, the multi-union Community Social Services Bargaining Association (CSSBA) – led by the BCGEU – has been working to resolve the issue of delayed retroactive wage increases as negotiated in the 2022-2025 collective agreement.

Many health care workers in the CSSBA – which also represents 1,500 HEU members – have not received their wage boosts or retroactive pay for 2022 and 2023.

HEU encourages its CSSBA members to contact their shop stewards or servicing representative if they are missing these payments – including Low Wage Redress, the $0.25/hour increase to all wage grids and the 3.24 per cent boost to all wage grids for 2022, and the 6.75 per cent increase to all wage grids for 2023.

This information will also support the CSSBA’s policy grievance that was filed against the Community Social Services Employers’ Association (CSSEA). Should the delay continue, the CSSBA will proceed with scheduled arbitration.

To stay informed, members need to keep their contact information updated through the HEU website.

Bargaining bulletins can be found on the HEU website.
