Media conference set for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Plaza 500 Hotel
Unions representing 46,000 health care workers will make a major announcement at a media conference later this morning. They’ll release details about the status of talks with government about ways to minimize the impact of privatization on health care workers and on the important health care services that British Columbians rely on.

Who: Chris Allnutt, secretary-business manager for the Hospital Employees’ Union. Allnutt is also chief spokesperson for the bargaining association of unions representing health and support workers in hospitals and long-term care facilities.
Jaci White, resident care aide, chair of the health services component of the B.C. Government and Service Employees’ Union.
