Unions’ chief bargainer, B.C. Federation of Labour president address Vancouver Hospital workers at 12:30 p.m.
Thousands of health care workers throughout the province will be walking off-the-job for two-hours today at more than 30 facilities where their unions have legal strike notice in effect.
The nature of the job action varies from site to site but no picket lines are being erected at hospitals or long-term care facilities. Union members whose work has been designated essential by the Labour Relations Board will remain on-the-job during the actions.
In Vancouver, the unions’ chief bargainer, Chris Allnutt, and B.C. Federation of Labour president Jim Sinclair will speak Vancouver Hospital workers shortly before they end their job action at 1:00 p.m.
