Community Social Services Bargaining Update

Community social services bargaining is resuming today, May 16, after a scheduled break.

The Community Social Services Bargaining Association (CSSBA) is negotiating agreements for workers in Community Living Services, General Services, and Indigenous Services sub-sectors. This covers more than 17,000 workers from ten unions including HEU, BCGEU, CUPE, HSA, and more. A collective agreement outlines the terms and conditions of employment including wages, benefits, and working conditions, including your rights as a union member.

Workers in community social services have gone above and beyond during the pandemic – providing quality child care, support for people with disabilities, new Canadians, youth at risk, Indigenous families, individuals facing family violence, and many others. This is why the CSSBA will continue to discuss the priorities outlined by members, in order to address systemic issues in the sector and support CSS workers to do their jobs safely.

Key updates on the bargaining process will be provided in the coming weeks.
