2026 Community Health Bargaining

On March 20, 2026, members of the multi-union Community Bargaining Association (CBA) voted to accept a tentative collective agreement with the Health Employers Association of British Columbia (HEABC).

The comprehensive report provides an overview of the tentative agreement, highlighting changes and improvements. You will also find copies of each signed article with all changed, added or deleted language noted.

These changes are now part of the renewed CBA four-year collective agreement.

About 2,300 HEU members are covered by the CBA contract.

Benchmarks

Under the Job Classification Plan, benchmarks are the sole criteria for the classification of jobs in the community health subsector. Each benchmark contains a scope and level definition, and a list of typical functions and responsibilities by which jobs or positions are distinguished and classified.

A benchmark is not a job description.

These documents will provide your benchmark rate code and/or grid code. To find your wage rates, look at your Collective Agreement and your Wage Schedule, both found on this page.

The benchmarks are divided into seven job families.
